Thank you for entering my Web Site. I want to tell you a little about how I ended up in this business and tell you about some special teachers who helped me along the way. I have fished the Gulf of Mexico for Red Snapper and many other fishes for more than thirty five years. As a young kid my dad, Al Jacobsen, was district manager for the Houston Post. On those days when I was lucky enough to go to work with him I was introduced to the world of early rising. Do-nuts ,great breakfast and fishing reports on the A.M. radio. Pitch black outside his job would end just before sunrise. What a perfect time to go fishing, and we did. He taught me well. At a very young age I could navigate and run a large spectrum of boats. As an offshore fisherman I was apprentice to Ed Bostick, Doug Johnston, and even F.G. Christ. This was a time to learn. These men gave me insight to Charter, Recreational, and Commercial fishing. I was lucky enough to have my own company that did well and gave me a chance to play hooky a little during the week. I worked hard when I had the chance and I listened to my teachers and my Dad. It worked out really well for me. I now know the pride of setting State records and winning tournaments. I know the thrill of locating a virgin Snapper spot and watching twenty pound plus Red Snapper fight each other for the privilege of a hook. But I can remember the days when I was just learning. I know how it feels to ask someone "where did you catch those fish"? The answer was usually something like "off the back of the boat" or "in the water". I hear it all the time "How did you catch those fish ?" ...... " It was easy!" (smart-ass). Well, I never liked that and I know you don't either !! If you want to learn how to be the one at the dock with the nice Red Snapper instead of the questions about Red Snapper Fishing then take a hard look at the Web Site, my book and E-mail me with your thoughts and your questions. The Web Site has really done well thanks to all of you. To date we have had thousands of hits and have helped fisherman up and down the coast. Our Web Site holds one of the top positions on most search engines when searching for "red snapper fishing". Please let me know how we can make it better for you. Thank You
