Texas Red Snapper  Fishing Tips and Spots
Personnel Snapper Fishing Lessons

It is important to understand that I  am not a guide or a charter captain. I am a teacher who formerly made my living that way. Now, I teach guides and Captains what I learned through years of study and perseverance. My "On Your Boat" snapper fishing lessons will help you move to a whole new level of fishing.

Are you tired of fishing on Oil Rigs and weed lines? The wrecks and reefs in my Advanced Red Snapper Fishing 2005 will certainly  get you started fishing solid bottom structure. But practice, experience and a little coaching from an experienced bottom fisherman will put it all together.

Did you know that the factory default settings on your depth finder are not very close to the best settings for the Gulf of Mexico? Does you Loran read properly? How about your GPS? If their off you will never find what you are looking for. You can spend a long time looking for numbers that should be good fishing spots only to become frustrated with the time and cost of looking.

During a private lesson trip I will show you fishing spots and help with techniques using your boat and your electronics. We go over your electronics, check your fishing tackle and talk about your techniques ( I have also learned  a lot of things from my customers when we do this, so I really want you to tell me some of your tricks too !!! ). First we will check your Loran and GPS readings against known targets. We'll look at your Fish Finder and transducer placement and review what you have been doing. Then, together, we will visit some fishing spots. Some that are in my book and some new ones. I know how they should look on a Color or Mono depth finder so we use these pictures to adjust your depth finder to read it's best in the waters that you fish.

By the way, we will fish along the way. During Snapper season we will catch some red snapper and try hard to find a couple of sow snapper along the way. Out of season we will look for Amberjack as we locate snapper spots for next years season fishing.

Call or E-mail me for more information.

This trip is not available for some of the smallest boats that are not designed to fish offshore.
